The Franklin County Public Works Department is comprised of Accounting and Administrative Services, Road Maintenance and Operation Division, Engineering and Traffic Services Division, Geographical Information Systems Division, Solid Waste Division, and Motor Vehicle and Equipment Division. All divisions are committed to our responsibility to provide safe, economical, and environmentally sound public road facilities and services.

Juniper Dunes Recreation Area Access Road

 

2015-07-29 The Board of Franklin County Commissioners held a public hearing to establish a County road from Pasco-Kahlotus Road to the Juniper Dunes Recreation Area.

 

2015-04-08 - The Board of Franklin County Commissioners held a public hearing on the route preference for a Juniper Dunes access road. The public was afforded opportunity to voice opinions and concerns. At the conclusion of the hearing, the Board concurred with the County Engineer's report that Alternative 2 was the preferred option. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will make the final determination as to the route location.

The Western Federal Lands Division of the Federal Highway Administration, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management and Franklin County, is planning to construct a public access to the Juniper Dunes Wilderness and off-highway vehicle areas. The project is currently in the early planning stages.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO EXISTING

2018-2023 SIX-YEAR TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

 

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Franklin County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, January 30th, 2018, at 9:00 am in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room at the County Courthouse, 1016 North Fourth Avenue, Pasco, Washington, for the purpose of taking testimony concerning the amending of the existing 2018-2023 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program.  “Each county shall perpetually have available advanced plans looking to the future for not less than six years as a guide in carrying out a coordinated transportation program” (RCW 36.81.121(1)).

 

The amendments to the 2018-2023 plan are available at the Franklin County Public Works Department at 3416 Stearman Avenue, Pasco, Washington, 509-545-3514, and on the County website: www.co.franklin.wa.us/public_works/index.html.  Comments on the amendments to the existing program can be delivered orally or in writing at the public hearing and through written correspondence to be delivered prior to the date and time of the public hearing.

 

Franklin County ensures full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by prohibiting discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, or sex in the provision of benefits and services resulting from its federally assisted programs & activities.

 

The meeting site is accessible to persons with disabilities and accommodation for people with disabilities can be arranged with advance notice by calling (509) 545-3514.

 

A Spanish interpreter will be available. The Commissioners’ Chambers are handicap accessible. Arrangements to reasonably accommodate special needs, including handicap accessibility or interpreter, will be made upon receiving 24-hour advance notice. Aviso por este medio es dado que una audiencia pública se realizará por la Junta de Comisionados del Condado de Franklin en Martes, 30 de Enerol de 2018, en 9:00 en sala de reuniones de los Comisarios en la corte de condado, 1016 Norte Cuarto Avenue, Pasco, Washington, con el fin de tomar testimonio relativo a la modificación de lo existente programa del 2018 - 2023 Seis Años Programa de Mejoramiento de Transporte.  "Cada condado perpetuamente tendrán planes avanzados disponibles mirando hacia el futuro por no menos de seis años como guía en la realización de un programa coordinado de transporte" (RCW 36.81.121(1)).
